Known as the “Mighty Venetian”, Montagnana represents the very best of the Venetian school. Famed for his cellos in particular, he used a particularly broad pattern, with long elegant corners and very up right f-holes producing a wonderfully powerful and full tone.
Handmade and hand varnished cello
Two piece back in selected highly figured maple with matching ribs and scroll; table in two pieces of selected spruce of narrow grain
Hand applied varnish with an antiqued aspect
Fitted French Despiau bridge and fitted high quality sound post
